Launched in December 2025 by National Learning Network's parent group, Rehab, the #MoreThanAJob campaign aims to transform how Ireland supports people with disabilities into meaningful work. The goal is simple: to make work possible for people who have the ability and desire to contribute, but who rarely get the chance.
This webinar will showcase real stories and offer practical insights from our expert speakers who champion workplace inclusion and who will give advice on how NLN can support people into meaningful jobs with purpose. The session will be useful whether you’re a parent, an educator, a health professional, an employer or a student looking ahead to the future. Connected Communities, Global Relationships &
Webinar: Diaspora Engagement in the West and Northwest of Ireland

Tuesday 2nd June 2026 from 11am to 12pm (GMT+1) - Online
The Western Development Commission have just published new research on diaspora engagement in the West and Northwest of Ireland which should be of great interest to a wide range of groups and organisations. Perhaps unsurprisingly, heritage and genealogy groups were amongst the largest cohort of survey respondents and the report reveals the quiet but very valuable role that such groups are playing in reconnecting people with place through genealogy, heritage, archives, local history and community memory. A number of case studies contained within the report should be of particular interest – the Global Irish Famine Way, Kilrush and District Historical Society and Comharchumann Forbartha Ghaoth Dobhair.  This report is essential reading for anyone interested in heritage, migration and diaspora connection. To read the full report, an Executive Summary or any of the case studies, go to Connected Communities, Global Relationships - Western Development Commission.

The Western Development Commission will also be holding a public webinar to share the findings and to reflect on how the work of heritage groups and others working in this area can be better supported to meet the potential that’s out there. It’s on June 2nd at 11 a.m.
You can sign up at
